The Rum River trip was the second largest to go out. 15 daring students volunteered to go. The Staff members that went were Doug Berg, Randy Nelson, and Patti Fisher, a student teacher. The trip started on Nov. 12 and ended on Nov. 15.
The staff and students put through quite an experience. They had to chop through ice, go under trees, and of course dodge rocks. The nights were cold and so were most of the days. Around the campfire the staff and students had time to unthaw and all had time to go into a town and dry their clothes. Tom Felfer and buddies kept the camp going. Arnie Koffold showed us what a true outdoorsman was like. Of course we can’t forget Dave Force and his great flashlight.
The trip ended 1 day early due to uncontrollable circumstances, but they are planning to finish the trip in the spring.
