The song of an angel echoes in his eyes
and a scar of courage is etched on his forehead
visible only to those who make the time to see.
His eyes hold his tears of confusion
the frustrations of life built up into a
barrier of ice, ready to melt at the least spark of hope.
He has a heart of gold, but it’s hidden
behind the cloud of a built-in cruel fear.
A fear that has forbidden love, forced into
a heart that has never known, or had a chance
to feel it.
The words it may say in anger are only
his way of trying to cover up his fears and emotions.
What they mean in his heart is only the reflections
of his despair. He is crying out for trust and a
chance to try again.
No one seems to care enough, or has time enough
to help him. If given the love and trust he needs
maybe he can break those walls of hurt enough
to really live again. If only you’d give him a chance.
