On Wednesday, Jan 26th, the Mini-School Program held a Tupperware Party. The whole idea came from Sarah Woitalla, sister of Mini-Schooler Mike, who is a Tupperware lady. Since the potential looked good (Mini-School made 15% of sales over $150) and the expenditure of time and money seemed minimal, we decided to give it a whirl. All Minnetonka employees were invited from 4-6 p.m. and all Mini-School parents, present and past, were invited from 7:30-9:30. The invitations were sent, the Mini-School classrooms were cleaned and polished, the cookies were bought, the coffee was made, the Tupperware was displayed–we were ready.
On Wednesday morning the temp was 20 and the wind was blowing at 25-35 mph. By 4:00 p.m. the temp was -5 and the wind was still blowing. By 7:00 the temp was -12 and the wind was increasing. Consequently, the turnout was very poor. Consequently, Mini-School only made about $50.00. The effort was not in vain, however, the people involved enjoyed themselves and learned some things. It probably would be worth trying again when the weather gods are more benevolent.
