By Crying Panther
Seen across the sidewalk,
I’ve watched the crow fly overhead and with
the panther leading the way, he drops his
tears for me to walk upon;
Witnessing the sun setting, I rest my soul upon
the weathered ground,
Where so many have rested in pairs before;
Never have I been so alone,
Alone I face my fears,
Fears of myself and of the space around me;
Once upon a minute,
She would be by my side,
But now there is the wall of despair between
us, the wall of one night,
The night I didn’t stay.
