If you listen to hard core moshing music, this is a band to listen to. The lead singer yells a lot and sometimes you can understand him. The cool thing about this band is the lead singer plays the bagpipes and has it on a couple songs. Why I like Korn is because whenever I hear them I get rid of my anger by moshing. Anyways they have a lot of songs- two albums and I like them all.
When I went to see them at First Avenue for the first time, it was the greatest. The opening bands were Limp Bizkit and Delinquent Habits. Limp Bizkit is a band of three people. I had never heard these guys before and was about to hear them. They were good. I thought for a band with three people they almost sounded like KORN. On the other hand Delinquent Habits was a hip-hop group of three people, two rapped and the third used a turntable. They were OK. I didn’t like them as much cause you can’t go listen to hard core music then rap. It just doesn’t work.
Then Korn came on. There were blinding lights everywhere before they came on. Once they got on stage, they were glowing cause they all wore bright clothes. The crowd was going wild and the lead singer had something with him. It was his kid. He gets up to the microphone and goes “this is my son” then he said his son’s name but I forgot it.
Everybody was screaming and yelling. Then when they started playing, chaos and anarchy occurred. Everybody went psychotic in about two seconds. I moshed out of the pit cause I couldn’t breathe. The reason why is that there were too many people and it felt like I was being crushed by walls. So I got out and got on the balcony with my other friends and when I got up, I looked at the floor and it looked like jumping up and down at the same time and moving around. They played almost all their songs and near the end my friend Dean Hendrikson got on stage and pushed the lead singer of Limp Bizkit because he was up there. He pushed him back and then Dean staged dived. He got up there one more time before it ended. When it ended I found a pager and got 10 dollars for it and Dean and I were going to party with Delinquent Habits but the majority voted Perkins.
Over all I thought it was the greatest concert I’ve been to and recommend hearing KORN or Limp Bizkit whenever you get the chance.
