When I first commented to my friends that I was going in to Mini-School I heard some pretty interesting comments. “When you graduate do you get a real diploma?” “I thought you were so much smarter than that!” “No one in there works, they just sleep.”
True there is an occasional student catching some Z’s, but my first impression of Mini School was that everyone was working hard and everyone was enjoying what they were doing. Mini is a place where everyone fits in. There is a real sense of togetherness which is something missing in mainstream. Overall I have enjoyed my time in Mini School and I am very excited to spend the next two years in the program. For the people that think this is the school for the stupid, think again. We work hard. The classes in Mini are set up better. Since third and fourth hour are blocked, the days don’t seem to drag on. Every two weeks we pick new blocks. That way we don’t have the same class day after day, week after week.
