“Johnny Got His Gun”
I went to B. Dalton to look for this book because I heard it was really good. They didn’t have it so I had to order it.
I got it a few days ago and read the whole thing in one sitting. It doesn’t say on the back cover really what the book’s about except how horrible war is, but the book is actually about a soldier in WW1 who is badly injured in combat lying in his hospital bed. A piece of shrapnel has cut through his face destroying his eyes, ears, mouth and nose, leaving him a mute. They also amputate his arms and legs. and put him in a hospital bed and leave him with his memories. It’s a story I would recommend.
