Our featured student this issue is Lacey Landt. She has been a part of the Mini program for a long time, and has been involved in every aspect of Mini. Lacey received Student Recognition last year for her involvement in the trips program and Com-mini-cations, and has been a chief editor since her arrival to Mini. She knows all the ways of Mini, and has retained the lessons well. So perhaps in this interview, we can learn a little about her…
1. How long have you been in Mini?
About four years.
2.Why did you come into Mini-School?
Well, I got kicked out of main-stream for never going to class.
3.What activities are you involved in at Mini-School?
I work a lot on Com-mini. I’m really into the trips program, and help with the preparation of trips before they go out.
4.Do you think that your time here in Mini was a learning experience?
Extremely–I wouldn’t be the person I am now without Mini-School. I wouldn’t have stuck this long with any other program and made this much of an effort to graduate.
5.Are you prepared for life after Mini?
Yes, most definitely. I feel that Mini-School has helped prepare me for actual living.
6.What was your favorite class?
Com-mini-cations, and Ramona’s Kite block.
7.What would you advise to future Mini-Schoolers?
Be respectful. If you try hard enough, you will succeed.
8.What has Mini done for you overall?
Introduced me to a lot of new people who are now my friends. Appreciation and respect for the outdoors. Mini changed my whole perspective, and helped me build my whole personality.
Thanks Lacey for sharing your thoughts with us, and for your dedication to Mini and the program.
