I was fortunate enough to meet up with Brian Cristofono at his work in Excelsior. Brian is a former Mini-School student and graduated in ‘95 after being in Mini for about 2 1/2 years. While he was in Mini he went on the summer trip and said he enjoyed it. Brian said he liked that Mini-School lets you be who you want to be.
Brian now works at the Amoco in Excelsior. He also has a band “The Drive”, which has been together since high school. He sings lead-vocals, plays rhythm guitar and also manages and promotes the band. They are now working on their second album. They’ve played many places including the 400 bar, Fine Line, Foxfire, and the 7th St. Entry.
Brian can always see himself with his band in the future. Rumor has it, they’re playing at Edgefest this year, but there’s nothing definite. The Drive played in Europe last fall and will be returning this fall to perform and talk to a record company in London. Brian describes his band to be his “main passion”.
