Harmony Park is a piece of land in Geneva, MN. The man who owns it used to travel around following the Grateful Dead. When Jerry Garcia died, he started Harmony Park so people could carry on or still “have the vibe” that the Grateful Dead concerts had.
Harmony Park opens about four or five times in the summer. The Third Stone (a store in Uptown Minneapolis) helps him put on concerts by selling the tickets, getting the bands, and advertising for him. Since he owns the land he allows everyone to camp right there, which kind of brings everybody together.
I went to Harmony Park for the first time this year. It was the last concert until next Spring. It was called Harvest Fest. There were a bunch of bands such as: The Big Wu, The Big Tasty, Pua Fua, Wookie Foot, Jones Gang, and more. They played on a Friday and Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. There was a Third Stone booth and food booths. I would have to say that it was by far the best concert I’ve been to and I’ll for sure be going back next year.
