By Meegan Burns
My mistakes are not regrets
I’ll make up for them tomorrow
These details form my present circumstances
And I love my present sorrow
Born restless so I’m wrong
My resolutions are forbidden
Ripple affects make me who I am
The consequences leave me wondering
If cause comes before affect
The beginning must be never-ending
Spoken words are not often heard
So I’m screaming my life away
We’ve both had enough of this lullaby
Yet you insist that I must stay
I’m driven by my ignorance
One day I’ll have a clue
The smoke will clear eventually
And somehow we’ll know what’s true
Ask me not, What is it now?
Instead wonder what it could have been
We all seem to get caught up in dreams
When we know we can’t do it again
