As you walk through the long depressing halls of Minnetonka High School you will notice that over the last couple years a few things have changed. A bit of life has been added over my years of attending MHS. When I first started to attend this school in ‘93 my impression was dull, very dull. The halls were blank and filled with emptiness, the cafeteria was just a room with tables, and the imagination and talents of artists were unnoticed and trapped in one room. With the help of a very interesting, artistic, and unique man (Mr. Alexander) our halls have become alive with emotion.
Now in ’97 as you walk down these halls you see murals, single paintings, and sculptures, which have been produced by some of the most emotional and talented artists in our school. If you were to take a look inside Mr. Alexander’s room and to your left you would see a beautiful huge square of emotion produced by Aaron Connor. I believe this is one of the most incredible collages I have ever seen. I shall not reveal my thoughts of what it means to me because my meaning is probably way different from any of yours. The meaning behind this piece of art is something you’ll have to figure out yourself. (emotion is the key word).
There are many paintings other than that, such as the painting hung in senior hall by the timeout room. It’s filled with emotion and talent and imagination. Most of all with the paintings you just have to look deep or maybe think of the artist and contemplate what he/she was thinking at the time. Maybe about their life, their thoughts, their feelings, or just about their painting. Try to think of what the artist felt, but most of all try to respect the art, give it a chance and look within and find out what it means you. (emotion is the key word).
