A letter from Mr. Peter C. McLane
In a few days you will be out in that cold world and what are you going to do? This is a long life and from my observation for a lot of you it’s going to be a long and unpleasant life. But there is still time to do something about it.
What can you do about it? Well, you could go to college or go to vo-tech or join the army. After that it doesn’t leave much. If you don’t want to do the above, you could work in a gas station or an assembly plant. But if that is what is what you want to do, that is your business, but I sure as hell would not want to do that. And the way most of you are going, that is where you are going to end up.
When I go to school in the morning and go into class, I feel embarrassed. Most of you are dirty, smelly, and as arrogant as a mad dog. I’m not saying that all of you are that way, but a lot of you better clean up your act. Because life is going to get you.
A lot of you think that school time should be fun time—you are wrong. DEAD WRONG. There should be some fun in school but not all fun. You are there for a reason—that is to prepare you for life. The way it’s going, some of you have more rec. time than class time. A lot of you spend more time worrying about your forehand smash in volleyball than reading.
All I am saying is that if you want to be a BUM you are on the right track. Have a nice summer.
